Deluge Systems
A deluge system is installed where there is a high risk of rapid fire spreading and total cooling is required. It is a wet system consisting of sprinklers or sprayers which are connected to pipework and are all open in order to provide a simultaneous delivery of water. In the event of fire, an alarm activates either electrically or from a pneumatically charged pilot line with closed sprinklers, which in turn signals the deluge valve to open allowing water to rapidly flow across the entire system.
