WHO WE ARE

Sustainability

Fire suppression technologies, water usage and chemical agents all carry environmental consequences.

Our responsibility is to deliver fire protection systems that Protect People and Property without costing the Planet.

We work with organisations operating critical infrastructure where fire protection, regulatory compliance and sustainability must work together.

Our Responsibility in Mission-Critical Environments

Our engineering approach considers the entire lifecycle of a fire protection system, from design through to upgrades and long-term maintenance.

Key considerations

  • Regulatory compliance and insurance standards
  • Environmental impact of suppression agents
  • Alignment with customer carbon reduction goals
  • Long-term system sustainability
  • Future-proofing against regulatory change

Sustainable Fire Protection

  • Low-Impact Suppression
Supporting the transition away from PFAS-based foams and advising customers on environmentally responsible suppression technologies.
  • System Lifecycle Efficiency
Designing fire protection systems for longevity, retrofit capability and reduced material waste across the full lifecycle.
  • Intelligent Detection
Smart detection zoning and system optimisation to reduce false discharges and unnecessary environmental impact.
  • Sustainable Supply Chain
Responsible sourcing, reduced packaging and collaboration with suppliers to improve sustainability across the fire protection sector.

Leading Change in Sustainable Fire Protection

The fire protection industry is undergoing significant environmental change, from the phase-out of harmful suppression chemicals to increasing expectations around water use and system lifecycle impact.

Alpine Fire is actively contributing to this transition through engineering innovation, industry engagement and thought leadership.

Our work includes:

PFAS Foam Transition

Supporting the move away from environmentally harmful firefighting foams and helping organisations plan safe, compliant system upgrades.

Industry Thought Leadership

Sharing expertise and contributing to industry conversations around sustainable fire protection and environmental regulation.

Sustainable Supply Chain Collaboration

Hosting our first Sustainable Supply Chain event in 2025, bringing partners together to reduce environmental impact across the fire protection sector.

Engineering Innovation

Developing practical solutions that reduce water waste and improve the environmental performance of fire protection systems

Supporting Customer Net Zero Goals

Many organisations are working towards ambitious Net Zero targets. Fire protection infrastructure must support and not undermine those commitments.

Alpine Fire works with customers to ensure fire protection systems align with broader sustainability strategies.

Examples

  • Reducing environmental risks associated with suppression chemicals
  • Minimising water waste during system testing
  • Preventing catastrophic fire loss that leads to carbon-intensive rebuilds
  • Supporting ESG audits and sustainability reporting
  • Designing systems aligned with long-term environmental compliance

Climate & Carbon Reduction

Alpine Fire recognises the role businesses must play in reducing global emissions.

We have commissioned a Net Zero roadmap covering our UK operations and supply chain.

Our commitments include:

  • Carbon Neutral by 2030
  • Net Zero by 2045
  • Continuous reduction of operational emissions

Our sustainability performance has also been recognised with EcoVadis Silver accreditation for two consecutive years.

People & Communities

Sustainability also includes the wellbeing of our people and the communities where we operate.

Our initiatives include:

  • 15 hours of paid volunteering for every colleague
  • Community litter picks with Keep Bury Clean and Bury Council
  • Supporting local charities and sports organisations
  • Corporate charity partnership with Two Brews, supporting homelessness outreach in Manchester

Through fundraising initiatives such as the Alpine Group Challenge, we have raised over £15,000 for charitable causes including Two Brews.

Driving the Future of Sustainable Fire Protection

The fire protection industry is undergoing rapid change as environmental regulations evolve and new technologies emerge.

Alpine Fire is actively engaged in shaping the future of sustainable fire protection through:

  • Leadership on PFAS and foam regulation
  • Development of water-saving system technologies
  • Digital monitoring and intelligent fire system optimisation
  • Collaboration with suppliers on next-generation suppression solutions

Our goal is simple: deliver fire protection systems that Protect People, Property and Planet.
