DHL planned to increase the Logistics Centre at Colnbrook with a new 150,000 square feet extension. The new hub would process millions of packages every year.

Brief

Rapid response sprinkler protection was required throughout the roof, under mezzanines and needed to integrate within complex conveyor and sorting systems.

Solution

The Alpine solution was designed to a high level of detail, millimetre perfect, to ensure that all pipework avoided the moving parts of the site automation. In addition consideration was given to the types and sizes of packages to ensure that movement of parcels was not impeded by sprinkler pipework and heads whilst ensuring the system would deliver optimum performance on demand.
