VolkerFitzpatrick delivered the new 786,000 sqft DC for H&M Group. The facility was to incorporate some industry leading storage and retrieval systems to maximise their operational capacity.

Brief

As the sprinkler system provider of choice Alpine was presented with a number of challenges to fire protect 3 types of mezzanines, automated crane aisle racks and the complex conveyor systems.

Solution

The Alpine design solution to BSEN 12845 incorporated multiple design densities. The water supplies to the system consists of two full capacity water storage tanks and two full duty diesel fire pumps. Alpine delivered this complex bespoke solution within the 19 month programme adapting to a changing programme and scope of work throughout.
